Actress Liv Tyler’s younger half-sister Mia has been chosen as the new face of H&M’s outsize range. The 22-year-old daughter of Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler will be modelling the Swedish fashion giant’s autumn-winter collection for its Big Is Beautiful range.
Discovered by US teenage magazine Seventeen in 1998, Mia is no stranger to being in front of the camera, and is now one of the plus-size modelling world’s best-known names. Raised in New Hampshire by her mother Cyrinda, Mia moved to NYC in 1990, where she later studied acting.
“I was always a big kid and I’m okay with that,” says the stunning brunette. “But I know that it would have been better growing up if I had seen role models who had figures like me. Beauty comes in different packages. If you’re a US size 12, then you’re not any less beautiful than a size 4.”
The BiB campaign has been lensed by hip Sixties and Seventies snapper Bob Richardson, and Mia joins a host of beautiful women who have fronted H&M’s campaigns, such as Claudia Schiffer, Gisele Bundchen and Naomi Campbell.
