Supermodel Naomi Campbell has broken her silence on her high-profile split from Benetton boss Flavio Briatore, saying his unreasonable expecations caused the end of the two-year relationship.

“I’m not going to be a trophy,” she reveals in the February issue of Marie Claire. “If you expect me to be in the kitchen cooking breakfast in high heels, looking as though I just stepped out of a fashion magazine, it’s not going to happen.”

“I’m alone now, but I’m not lonely,” she says. “I feel very content and I haven’t felt down or depressed in months.”

Naomi has been linked with a string of men in recent years, including Oscar winner Robert De Niro and U2’s Adam Clayton. However, she says she’s just looking for love.“I want the same things as every other woman – the house, the kids, the lot,” says the 31-year-old stunner. “I know it must seem like there’s been this one continuous stream of famous boyfriends but that’s really not the case.”

And while she refused to be a trophy girlfriend for 50-year-old Flavio – now rumoured to be dating Lady Victoria Hervey – Naomi admits she isn’t ready to abandon tradition entirely. “I don’t want a Mr Campbell,” she says. “I don’t want to be the one wearing the pants.”
