Linda Evangelista, the chameleon-like supermodel who ruled the catwalk during the Nineties, is returning to modelling after a five-year absence. She recently graced the cover of Vogue, and, beginning next week, the 37-year-old stunner will feature in the latest campaign for Wallis as she shows off the fashion chain’s spring collection.
Images of Linda will adorn the windows of nearly 250 branches of the high street chain. The photos, shot by British photographer Tom Munro, are called “striking” by Wallis brand director Anne Secunda, who says the 5ft 10in beauty “epitomises the glamour our customers aspire to.”
Known for constantly reinventing herself, it seems the green-eyed model has once again found her niche. “The Wallis customer is over 30, grown-up, elegant and flirty,” says Anne. “Who could possibly put the message across better than Linda?”
Hints that the Canadian supermodel might be restarting her career came when she posed for famed photographer Steven Meisel for the cover of the US issue of Vogue last September. Linda, who once famously joked that she wouldn’t get out of bed for less than $10,000, has just completed a photo shoot for British Vogue after being featured in the French version of magazine.
