Dutch model Karen Mulder made a surprise reappearance in the fashion world on Monday at the Christian Dior Haute Couture collections in Paris, after several months spent out of the spotlight.
Although she didn’t appear on the catwalk, Karen looked to be back to her stunning self as she was photographed with old friend Helena Christensen and flamboyant designer John Galliano during the show.
The former model, a Nineties favourite, hit the headlines last year when she made a series of declarations on a French chat show - which eventually never aired - including claims that she had been raped by a former member of her agency, Elite, and by a member of the Grimaldi royal family. She also claimed to have been sexually abused as a child by her father and forced to take drugs of all kinds during her time as a model.
Soon after the interview, Karen was checked into a French clinic by her sister Saskia and an inquiry was set up to investigate her claims. She checked out of the clinic in March this year and has now reportedly stopped taking medication and has withdrawn her declarations.
Sources close to the model say Karen is “much better and back from her ordeal,” and as these photographs show, she is more than well on her way to a full recovery.
