Popular German model Heidi Klum has received a particularly special accolade from the island of Grenada, in the Caribbean - as from today, she appears on a special series of stamps there.
The three stamps, which bear her image only, have the caption; "Heidi Klum: discover the beauty of stamps". They are to be unveiled Friday at the Atlantic City Stamp Show in the United States, with Heidi herself blowing in for the presentation.
The statuesque model, who hit the big time after appearing on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue and calendar in 1998, says she wanted to be at the presentation because she thinks the stamps are a fun way to highlight the value of cultural exchange.
Heidi is particularly tickled by this stamp of approval because she has inherited an interest in philately from her father Gunther, a keen stamp collector.
Heidi fans unable to make it to the Altantic City show or nip over to Grenada may be interested to hear that the stamps are available by mail from the American Philatelic Society.
