The theme of the evening was The Provocateurs: Those Who Dare, and supermodel Naomi Campbell did not disappoint with the decidedly daring frock she chose for Thursday's Fashion Group International Awards in New York.
Joined in high style by Sean "P Diddy" Combs, Sex In The City star Sarah Jessica Parker and singer Macy Gray, the British beauty dazzled in a cream-coloured see-through lace gown for the event, which honoured the world's most provocative designers, directors and writers.
Naomi's hip hop mogul pal and Sean John label founder P Diddy received the American designer award, and praised iconic designers such as Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren for giving him "the confidence to keep the swagger".
A very pregnant Sarah Jessica Parker presented shoe king Manolo Blahnik – whose luxurious heels are a staple on Sex In The City – with his star-shaped crystal gong, while giving kudos to his famed footwear. "Archive them, ladies," she advised. "Most marriages don't last that long, but with Blahnik, you can be monogamous."
Other artists honoured at the ceremony at exclusive restaurant Cipriani were Moulin Rouge director Baz Luhrmann, who creatively paired a Prada suit with a six-dollar tie, and The Vagina Monologues author Eve Ensler, who picked up a gong presented by Resevoir Dogs star Harvey Keitel.
