The Bar Seine of Plaza Athenee Hotel in New York city could have easily been mistaken for a fashion week after-show bash when Vogue and American furrier Blackglama threw a posh dinner party for Gisele Bundchen, the latest face of the company's new campaign.
It was wall-to-wall supermodels and stars as catwalk beauties Helena Christensen, Carmen Kass and Anouk joined stylish rap star Eve and US Vogue editor Anna Wintour to enjoy a lavish nine-course meal that included Maine lobster with truffles and Hudson Valley foie gras.
Gisele is the star of the new millennium version of the firm's "What Becomes A Legend Most" campaign, which from the Sixties through the Eighties featured icons such as Marlene Dietrich, Diana Ross, Barbra Streisand, Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn and Sophia Loren.
In the latest incarnation, the Brazilian supermodel is shown in a series of black and white shots wearing the latest line. Last year's adverts, which re-launched the campaign after a ten-year absence, featured supermodel Linda Evangelista.
Due to controversy over the use of fur in fashion - although it seems to be coming back into style in some circles - the event was low-key. No invitations were printed and security was tight.
