She was once linked to Rolling Stone Mick Jagger, but now Italian supermodel Carla Bruni is set to make a name for herself in the world of music.
The 34-year-old catwalk queen, who has spent several years out of the spotlight after a decade in fashion, got a taste of the profession after writing songs for French star Julien Clerc two years ago. And now, she's promoting her debut album, Quelqu'un m'a dit, which she composed on her own. "I wouldn't get behind the mic and sing if I didn't write the songs," she explains.
Carla says she has exposed a lot of herself in the new disc – a soft, folksy collection of tracks – which is a stark contrast to her life on the runway. "I wanted the songs to be a bit naked, you know, not too over-dressed with layers of make-up," she says. "After all, that's the life I've lived for the past 12 years."
