Once plump model Sophie Dahl, who has lost her trademark curves in recent months, has dropped yet more pounds and is now a size eight. The once generously proportioned beauty has become as slim as her other British fashion world friends. And on her statuesque six-feet-tall frame, the lean new look could hardly be more striking.
The 24-year-old first took fashion shows by storm modelling top designers’ creations when she was an ample size 16. She also sparked a huge controversy by appearing naked on billboards to advertise Opium perfume, which critics argued were sexually explicit.
But Sophie, the granddaughter of children’s author Roald Dahl, embarked on a tough diet and exercise regime a few months ago and quickly lost three stone to become a size ten. Now she has gone yet further, shedding another stone and dropping to size eight.
Her newly accentuated cheekbones and long slender legs caught the attention of shoppers in London’s Notting Hill this week. One local resident commented: “Whatever diet she has been following has certainly worked because she looks much thinner.”
She isn’t the only full-figured model who has decided to streamline her look. Wonderbra girl Eva Herzigova has also slimmed down, in the process bidding goodbye to the impressive cleavage that first made her famous.
