The Princess Royal has started off the year with a less than flattering honour after being voted one of last year's ten worst-dressed women by a controversial US critic.
Famed fashion guru Mr Blackwell, known for his biting evaluations of celebrity style choices, ranked the Princess as number five on his annual roster of "couture casualties". Describing her looks as "dreary, drab and dour", he added: "Wake up Anne, you're getting worse by the hour!"
Mr Blackwell's summary of sartorially challenged celebs also includes number seven entry Donatella Versace, dubbed "a flash-fried Venus stuck in a Miami strip mall" and Cameron Diaz, whose appearance of looking "like she was dressed by a colour-blind clown", earned her a spot at number four.
Other "winners" on the list included "fright-wigged baby doll" Kelly Osbourne, Shakira, who sports "Madonna's old clothes", and "swap-meet fashion queen in Beverly Hills" Meg Ryan.
However, none of the famous fashion victims could top the queen of kitsch, model-turned-reality TV star Anna Nicole Smith, who headed up the list this year. "Don't bother with a new designer, Anna, just hire a structural engineer," advises Mr Blackwell cuttingly.
