It would be hard to imagine a more glamorous kickoff for London Fashion Week. Sadie Frost chatted with Kate Moss and Stella McCartney at the Frost-French tea party, Pasty Palmer showed off her sassy new 'do on the catwalk, Jerry Hall rubbed elbows with a prince from Brunei and Christina Aguilera took a front row seat at the collections.
But it wasn't all play and no work for Christina, who also performed live on stage at the Xelibri party, which kicked off Fashion Week on Saturday. Joining the Dirrty star to entertain at the event, a star-studded mobile phone launch, were Dame Shirley Bassey and chart-topper Ms Dynamite, as well as DJ Boy George, who provided dance tracks.
Among the stars participating in the first-night soiree were Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind actor-director George Clooney, Jamiroquai star Jay Kay, and teenage soprano Charlotte Church, who was all smiles as she planted kisses on her beau.
One of Sunday's highlights was the Frost-French after-show tea party, where guests such as Kate Moss, Stella McCartney and Donna Air had a hot cuppa or sipped champagne. New mum Sadie, wife of actor Jude Law and co-founder of the label, came out to present her collection and mingle with guests, making her first major public appearance since news broke that she was suffering from depression.
Meanwhile, the weekend's anti-war march – the largest in Britain's history – did not go unnoticed by London's fashionistas. Among the fashion week participants who took part were designer Vivienne Westwood, who went straight from her design headquarters to the peace rally.
