The stateside style elite gathered in New York on Monday night, when Sex And The City star and trend-setter Sarah Jessica Parker hosted the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) awards.
Hollywood and fashion made the perfect mix as Sarah presented Narcisco Rodriguez with the Womenswear Designer Of The Year Award and The Pianist star Adrien Brody handed Michael Kors the Menswear gong.
Meanwhile, two-time Oscar nominee Renee Zellweger – who was dubbed a "my postmodern Audrey Hepburn" by the man on her arm, US Vogue editor-at-large Andre Leon Talley – was graceful in a silhouette-skimming Carolina Herrera gown paired with elbow-length gloves. "I don't really know my 'look'," confessed the Chicago star, "but this dress fit and it's so pretty."
On the global front, Britain's Alexander McQueen won the International Designer trophy, but Australian star Nicole Kidman was missing in action when it came time to collect her Style Icon gong.
However, her impressive substitute – legendary actress Lauren Bacall, Nicole's co-star two films, Dogville and the upcoming Birth – was happy to fill in, picking up the award on her behalf.
