No Doubt star Gwen Stefani has ventured into a brand new field – the world of fashion. With her line of apparel due to hit stores in 2004, the singer, who is famed for her unique mix and match style, has given fashionistas a taste of what's to come with the debut of her first-ever accessories collection.
Gwen, who teamed up with LeSportsac for the project, has designed an array of carry-alls that will be available this August. The trendy items, which range in price from $20 to $158, include such original elements as chrome detailing and guitar straps for handles.
"Gwen was so much fun to work with," says Tim Schifter, CEO and creative director of LeSportSac. "I would go to her house and we would be designing and all of a sudden she would jump up from her chair, run upstairs and search through her closet for an item of clothing or a guitar strap that she wanted to use in the collection." And it seems the fashion boss has picked up a few of the quirky pop singer's catchphrases, deeming the new range "megawatt and hella good".
In addition to her love of design, Gwen has also made it clear that she'd try her hand at acting "if the right part were to come along". And now the vocalist has apparently found the perfect role. She'll be making her film debut as platinum blonde bombshell Jean Harlow in Martin Scorsese's upcoming film, Aviator.
