Some of the world's top models and musical acts took over the Spanish steps in Rome on Wednesday night as the Donna Sotto Le Stelle – Woman Under The Stars – fashion extravaganza stormed the Italian capital.
The 20th anniversary of the annual event, part of Rome's couture week, saw the famed stairs become both a high fashion runway and a rock 'n' roll concert stage. Model Tasha Vasconcelos had the honour of kicking off the show for the third year in a row, switching on the lights of the Piazza di Spagna.
As colourful lights illuminated the night sky, catwalk queens from Valeria Mazza to Alek Wek displayed stunning high fashion frocks and live music from stars including former Eurythmics front woman Annie Lennox filled the warm summer air.
On the catwalk, creations from six haute couture houses and nine ready-to-wear firms took centre stage, as did designs from two other special invitees: Chanel, a first-time Rome participant, and Italian label Giorgio Armani.
