She's one of Victoria Beckham's pals, and now Naomi Campbell looks set to share the small screen with Posh's fictional counterpart.
The supermodel is in final talks for a role on ITV's Footballers' Wives, which famously features a line-up of glam characters including Chardonnay, an over-the-top take on David Beckham's pop star spouse.
But it was the upcoming departure of Chardonnay – played by actress Susie Amy – that convinced producers that Naomi would be a perfect fit for the show. "The script-writers have been working like mad since Susie announced she was off to Hollywood," an insider told the Daily Mirror. "Zoe Lucker would have been carrying the show as its babe. With Naomi on board the glamour will pan out more evenly."
Though the contract has apparently not been signed, Naomi, 33, is being written into the show "as we speak", said the source. The model, whose acting CV includes the 1999 mob flick Prisoner Of Love and a small role alongside Antonio Banderas in Miami Rhapsody, would appear in the new series which begins in January, 2004.
