As a passionate polo player, Jodie Kidd is accustomed to spending an afternoon on horseback. But when she agreed to become the new face of Monsoon, the 24-year-old's equestrian skills were tested to their limit.
Because Jodie has reinvented herself as a modern day Lady Godiva for her latest ad campaign. And the photoshoot was more risqué, and more risky, than anything she's done in the past.
Lying stretched out over the back of a horse, the model had only a few scraps of fabric to protect her modesty. And needless to say, she could have been badly injured if the horse had decided to bolt.
"Jodie sat on the horse for the pose and then spontaneously laid back - it was her idea," said a Monsoon spokesman. "The handler was amazed and said it showed she was an excellent horsewoman, because she was just balancing and managing to keep the horse docile. Jodie has a complete love of horses."
It's no surprise that she was comfortable with the mount, however, as Jodie has grown up around horses. Her father Johnny Kidd is a renowned polo player, and Jodie herself is currently competing for a place on the England women's team.
Monsoon is launching the new publicity drive to mark its 30th birthday this year.
