The inimitable Donatella Versace hit a high note when Beyonce Knowles and Mariah Carey came along to see her latest collection. The two pop divas made their entrance as Milan Fashion Week drew to a close with the Italian designer's spring-summer range.

It was a characteristically bright collection, with everything from bikinis to floaty chiffon dresses and rib-length shirts sailing down the catwalk. In keeping with Donatella's renown, there was plenty of skin exposed and one pair of gold shorts were so small even hardened Versace fans were a little surprised.

Sitting in the front row, Mariah was also winning her share of attention, in a diaphanous white gown that left little to the imagination. Beyonce, meanwhile, opted for a less risqué, albeit equally eye-catching, lime green number.

And the Destiny's Child singer also revealed that while she is a big fan of Italian couture, she prefers to go down under when it comes to lingerie. Speaking in an interview, the 21-year-old said that Kylie Minogue's "Love Kylie" designs are her favourite.

"Kylie actually sent all of us (in Destiny's Child) some of her new line, which was very nice," she said.

The 21-year-old also had some advice for aspiring booty-shakers on how to perfect their dancing. "Feel the music, you have to kind of let it take over," she said. "And step two is move, move your whole body… When I shake my butt, I feel it in my soul."
