It looks set to be a glamorous Halloween in New York, as two of the world's most alluring ladies throw spine-tingling parties.

Model Karolina Kurkova will be playing hostess at chic nightspot Lot 61, inviting Manhattan's movers and shakers to a fright night to remember. The Czech beauty follows in the footsteps of Kirsty Hume, Shalom Harlow and Heidi Klum in hosting the bash.

Her guests will have to make do without the company of Ms Klum, however, as she has made plans of her own. The supermodel has invited 500 of her fashion industry friends to a $100,000 party in New York's LQ club.

The exclusive gathering will include an open bar all-night and German chocolates flown in especially for the event. Guests can also expect a spectacular entrance by their hostess, who is planning to dress as an alien and arrive in her own spaceship.

Heidi's Halloween parties have become legendary in New York, and a roll-call of A-list stars is expected to attend. In 2000 Prince Andrew was famously photographed strutting his stuff on the dancefloor with a bevy of catwalk beauties.
