Venus and Serena Williams have served up a fashion ace by strutting their stuff on the catwalk.
The tennis champions took to the runway in Santa Monica, as Serena unveiled her new fashion label Aneres. "I did it for Serena – otherwise I'd be far too shy," said Venus, who wowed the audience in a chocolate brown mini-dress.
Serena, who has been studying fashion for some time now, hopes to become a full-time designer when she hangs up her racket. "I don't want to end my career and then start something," she said. "I like to do something while my career is still hot and I've always enjoyed designing."
And her sister has also turned her hand to style, with a collection of pants and jackets for Wilsons Leather. "There's plenty of time after my tennis to go full-time into fashion – when I have arthritis and all that fun stuff," she joked.
The two siblings won't be turning their backs on the tennis circuit for a while, however. Despite both suffering injuries this year, they are planning a return to the WTA tour in January, when the Hopman Cup gets underway in Australia.
