Paris hams it up Down Under

Ubiquitous model Paris Hilton has been strutting her stuff Down Under. The hotel heiress was appearing in a catwalk show as part of Australia Fashion Week in Melbourne. And it was a characteristically risqué affair, as designer Wayne Cooper sent a series of models down the catwalk in skimpy dresses and latex accessories.

Fashion pundits noted that Paris looked a little nervous when she first took to the runway in a simple black and white outfit. Her jitters may have been justified, however, as some of the models found the complex runway at Federation Square rather challenging. At one point two leggy beauties got tangled up, but they put a brave face on their stumble and continued undeterred.

By the end of the show Paris was clearly feeling confident, as she hammed up a dominatrix strut for her final appearance.

The 22-year-old, who has been travelling in Oz with sister Nicky, seems to have made quite an impression on her Antipodean hosts. "I have been hanging out with her a lot,'' said Wayne proudly. "And she's been wearing our clothes all the time."

As guests of Channel 7 Television, the two siblings were also filmed swanning around Flemington racecourse and touring the Gold Coast. And Paris has set local gossip columns ablaze after being snapped kissing Australian Idol star Robert Mills.
