Her boyfriend may be making waves Down Under, but Jonny Wilkinson's love Diana Stewart is garnering a share of the limelight back home in the UK. The pretty 24-year-old has just landed a prestigious contract as the face of Marks And Spencer.
She appears in TV commercials, promotional literature and the high street giant's website, promoting the company's &More credit card.
Diana, who has also recently debuted on British TV screens in the ITV drama Family, has been dating the 24-year-old fly half for two years, but has kept a low-profile on the relationship, preferring to make it on her own merits rather than as a result of her connection with the rugby ace.
"She loves acting and doesn't want her career to depend on the fact her boyfriend is Jonny Wilkinson," said a friend. "She just wants to get on through being herself."
Certainly Marks And Spencer had no idea of the connection when they chose her to front the new campaign. "The advert was made in the summer and we appointed her for her own talents as an independent actress," said a source at the high street chain. "It would be nice for us to say we had done a clever bit of PR by picking her with the Rugby World Cup coming up, but the truth is that people were not aware at the audition three months ago that she was Jonny Wilkinson's girlfriend and she did not tell anyone herself."
