A who's who of London's glitterati, including Naomi Campbell, Stella McCartney, Gwyneth Paltrow and Sadie Frost stepped out in style on Friday night as supermodel Kate Moss rang in her 30th birthday.
Since she was bidding adieu to her roaring 20s, the theme of the party was F Scott Fitzgerald's Twenties-era classic The Beautiful And The Damned. And though all of Kate's celebrity friends got into the swing of things, turning out in glamorous vintage-style outfits, it was the fashion icon who stole the spotlight on her special night in a bright blue sequinned dress and new curly hairdo.
The bash went on all night, starting out at the Mandarin Oriental before moving to Claridge's in Mayfair, where invitees found two rooms – a white one representing the beautiful and the other, in red, symbolic of the damned. Party guests later moved on to artist Sam Taylor-Wood's rose-bedecked mansion, where the festivities continued until nearly 2am, when noise prevention officers arrived. A smaller group then returned to Claridges, and apparently partied on until the sun came up.
With Cristal champagne flowing and strippers on hand for entertainment, there were apparently numerous highlights of the evening, including the birthday girl's gifts – a diamond-encrusted whip and undies from Agent Provocateur among them – and Kate's rendition of Summertime with Jools Holland on piano.
