The name Louis Vuitton has long been synonymous with opulence and glamour, and the design house's 150th anniversary proved no exception. A host of big names, including Naomi Campbell, Iman, Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith, turned out as the company opened its biggest store to date on New York's Fifth Avenue.
A lavish party was thrown at the retail paradise, which takes over as the company's flagship outlet. Kirsten Dunst and Famke Janssen were also among the revellers who enjoyed a night of partying in the spectacular glass building.
The 1,200 square metre store shows just how far the company has come since it first started selling luggage back in 1854. Of course, the brand has since added a few more strings to its bow, and is now well-known for its exclusive jewellery, leather goods and clothes.
And a number of new items have been designed to commemorate the big day, including a diamond-set tribute to the city of New York and a $200,000 watch. It's a far cry from the leather trunks, starting at $30, which the company's founder once sold through John Wanamaker's shop just a few yards away.
