Just as their romance hits the rocks, Keira Knightley and Jamie Dornan have taken steps into each other's professions, with Calvin Klein model Jamie signing up to do a film and the young actress appearing in a series of sultry ads for Bond Street jeweller Aspreys.

The 20-year-old starlet who got her big break playing the feisty love interest in Pirates Of The Caribbean alongside Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom is said to be devastated by the just-confirmed break-up with Jamie. Friends say the couple, who'd been dating for two years, were seeing less and less of each other because of increasingly demanding work schedules.

The flip side to that coin is continuing success for both in their careers: this autumn, Keira hits the big screen opposite heart-throb Matthew MacFadyen in a new adaptation of the ever-popular Pride and Prejudice. We'll also be seeing more of her than ever thanks to the Asprey campaign – one shot shows her clad in little more than a watch and a wig, modesty being preserved by a strategically placed handbag.

Twenty-two-year-old Jamie, meanwhile, has been signed to appear in an upcoming film about the French queen Marie-Antoinette, starring Kirsten Dunst. Apparently Keira had encouraged Jamie's acting ambitions by introducing him to her own contacts. A spokesman for the couple has confirmed that they have decided to call it a day, but, "They remain committed to each other as friends and will continue to see each other in this capacity."
