British beauty Naomi Campbell was in the Big Apple this week as she joined hip-hop mogul Diddy to promote Fashion For Relief, a fundraising drive to help victims of Hurricane Katrina. And it's no surprise the supermodel was looking like a million dollars – that's the amount written on the cheque she presented, raised by the fashion industry for the cause.
Naomi is the mind behind the initiative, which included an auction of the looks from the New York Fashion Week catwalk show of the same name. Designer Ralph Lauren has also created a special T-shirt for the cause, priced at $35, with proceeds going to AmeriCares' hurricane relief efforts.
The 35-year-old fashionista has been showing her more charitable – and reconciliatory – side of late. Naomi has healed a 14-year rift with fellow model Tyra Banks, appearing on the America's Top Model presenter's TV chat show to put their conflict behind them.
"One of the reasons I wanted to do this show is because sisterhood is so important to me," said Tyra. "I feel like women hate on each other - we're jealous - and it has to stop."
