With his enticing gaze and Calvin Klein-clad torso, Freddie Ljungberg is now a familiar sight on billboards. Having won over an army of admirers, the sculpted Swede is such a hit as an underwear model that other footballers have been trying to emulate his success with a campaign of their own.

Dolce & Gabbana has signed up five Italian stars of the beautiful game for a steamy ad campaign that is guaranteed to set pulses racing.

In the series of sensational images 25-year-old Juventus midfielder Manuele Blasi strips down to his briefs in the locker room, alongside Gennaro Gattuso, 27, who charmed Scotland's female football fans when he played for Rangers.

Also showing they have talents off the pitch are Gennaro's AC Milan team mate, 25-year-old Andrea Pirlo, Gianluca Zambrotta of Juventus and Fabio Cannavaro.

Thirty-two-year-old Fabio is thought to be one of the best defenders in the world, and he may need all his skill to fight off the fairer sex when word of the campaign filters out onto the street.
