With a multi-million pound fashion label to run and scores of celebrities to keep in skinny jeans and jumper dresses, Stella McCartney is one busy lady. But on a recent trip to Venice she made time to spend with Miller, her one-year-old son.
Mother and child were snapped taking to the waterways of the romantic Italian city, which they were visiting with Miller's father, dashing publisher Alasdhair Willis.
The couple, who've been married for nearly three years, are bringing up their little boy between a town house in London and their Worcestershire estate. There, deep in the countryside, Stella dons old clothes and gloves to tend her organic vegetable garden.
It's a way of life that she relishes after a childhood spent getting close to nature. "I grew up on an organic farm and I love it," she's commented. "Every night when we had dinner, my mum would go, 'And this potato is from our garden.' We'd all be like, 'Shut up'. But now I get it. "
But lest anyone forget that the earth mother image is just one of her many facets, Stella was dressed to the nines when she turned up for a party at Venice's Palazzo Grassi. At the inaugural reception for an exhibition of priceless art work, Paul McCartney's daughter dazzled in an apricot-coloured velvet jacket matched with a delicately embroidered skirt.
