It might be winter Down Under but Sydney was spreading more than a little sunshine as retail store Myer put on a sizzling fashion extravaganza this week. Australian former Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkins was joined on the runway by ten honed rugby league players as well as lingerie-clad ballerinas in a show-stopping affair.
Jennifer, who was reportedly paid $400,000 for her deal with the Aussie retailer, was the star of the show. Famed in her native country for her glamorous girl-next-door looks, the beauty queen and former cheerleader put on the glitz in a golden yellow gown by designer Alex Perry as a troupe of tuxedo-clad male dancers performed around her.
She was almost upstaged, however, by a group of rugby league footballers who'd been persuaded to show off their buff physiques in just a pair of swimming trunks.
Being Australia, the show wouldn't have been complete without some sassy swimwear and designs included trunks with a patriotic print of the city's iconic landmark, the Sydney Opera House.
The ladies, meanwhile, defied the seasonal chill in a series of brightly-hued cut-away creations that might not be suitable for surfing but are sure to be snapped up next summer by the sunbathing jet-set.
