Kylie Minogue's legions of fans are eagerly awaiting her return to the stage when the pop princess resumes her "Showgirl" tour in six weeks time. Fashionistas gathered in Milan didn't have to wait that long, however, to catch a glimpse of the diminutive singer as she has wowed audiences in the Italian city by sailing down the runway for her old friends Dolce and Gabbana.
The chanteuse provoked a huge roar of approval when she emerged onto the catwalk in a retro-style leopard print dress. And it would appear the 37-year-old, who was recently given the all clear after undergoing breast cancer treatment, has developed something of a penchant for the feline look, as she was wearing an almost identical creation when she stepped out with Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears in London ten days ago.
"Well, I need to control myself not to wear those kinds of things at a dinner party," joked the performer after the fashion extravaganza came to a close. "But perhaps I shouldn't show restraint and just wear it anyway, floating around in a pantsuit!"
Her turn at Milan Fashion Week was just the latest in a series of high-profile appearances the indefatigable star has made as she continues her showbiz comeback. In the last few weeks she has launched a book and taken part in several photoshoots while also continuing work on a new album and planning her stage comeback.
"I'm sure I'm going to look back on this period and go, 'How on earth did I do that?'," she confessed. "I'm not a year out of recovery and I'm recording and doing photoshoots and we've filmed new stuff for the screens for the show. I've hardly stopped. Not to panic people that I'm overdoing it, but I've been doing quite a lot. I'm trying to build up my strength."
