Fashionistas were taken back to the future at Milan Fashion Week as designers for the menswear collections sent models striding down the catwalk in a host of James Bond-inspired suits and 1960s retro creations.
At Dolce and Gabanna looks included dapper suits accessorised with aviator shades, perfect for the modern jet-setting spy. The Italian design duo also seemed to have looked back to earlier incarnations of the secret service agent by adding razor-thin ties and space-age, quilted jackets to their Roger Moore-esque one-buttoned combos.
Also apparently inspired by the autumn blockbuster were Valentino, who showed off tailored suits in a sombre palette alongside casually chic ensembles ideal for drinks on board the yacht with a Bond girl, and Giorgio Armani.
Gucci sent his secret agent to St Moritz, with a return to what the label's designer Frida Giannini described as "snow glam". Models 'headed for the hills' in classic velvet and woollen sweaters, with Frida aiming to recreate the "legendary jet-set life on the slopes" that existed when the brand originated.
