Summer isn't yet in full swing, but that doesn't prevent the fashion world from gearing up for the next season. Brit models Erin O'Connor and Elizabeth Jagger brought autumnal style to London when they debuted the new line of clothes from High Street store Marks and Spencer.
Willowy catwalk queen Erin exuded Forties glamour in a sophisticated cream evening dress reminiscent of the silver screen elegance of yesteryear, while Mick Jagger's girl modelled a fitted black satin frock teamed with black ankle boots. Other key looks in the collection include the parka, tailored wide-leg trousers, slim pencil skirts and long knits.
But the real key to looking your best next season is apparently not what's on top, but what lies beneath. The company, famed for its cotton undies, has added a new "super pant" line - which ensures a seamless look - to its classic knicker designs. "The new pants use material which can be cut into any shape without leaving a frayed edge," explains a spokesperson.
"We now have the ability to sculpt pants and bras into very flattering forms, which are comfortable to wear and look great under clothes." That doesn't mean the new lingerie range is going to look as functional as it sounds. It includes a seductive £19 corset inspired by burlesque dancer Dita von Teese in black lace and champagne, due to hit stores in the run-up to Christmas.
