The annual Fashion Rocks concert lived up to its name, taking over New York with a sensational mix of funky sounds and designer frocks. Marking the beginning of city's week-long catwalk extravaganza, the event always attracts its fair share of the glamorous and gorgeous - and Thursday night was no exception.
Local girl Jennifer Lopez gave an eye-popping performance, descending onto the stage in a cage wearing a sequinned trenchcoat, which she ripped off to reveal a babydoll minidress and cavort with a cohort of male dancers.
Other highlights were Alicia Keys' soulful duet with Carlos Santana and a performance by Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie and Aerosmith.
Meanwhile Teri Hatcher was on fine form, carrying out presenting duties hand in hand with rapper 50 Cent. The Desperate Housewife was clearly having as much fun off-stage, too, giggling away with a sexily Versace-clad Jessica Alba.
The Italian fashion house was also behind Mischa Barton's stunning Princess Leia-style metallic gown, while her expectant friend Nicole Richie chose a bold bump-flattering monochrome creation.
