When Ralph Lauren presented his 40th-anniversary spring/summer 2008 collection during New York Fashion Week it wasn't just heavyweight fashionistas making up the audience. The chance to view the latest offerings from the US designer also drew members of the silver screen elite, with Dustin Hoffman and Robert De Niro mingling with New York fashion scene regulars.
The veteran screen talents joined Sarah Jessica Parker and her husband Matthew Broderick in viewing the largely black and ivory-themed collection, which was interspersed with shots of bold colour and equestrian-inspired dresses. Also keeping a keen eye on the runaway action were US Vogue editor Anna Wintour and fellow designer Vera Wang.
Meanwhile, in midtown Manhattan, fashion-forward couple Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore - chic in a flattering, cinched-waist black dress - were taking in the Diesel show in Bryant Park. Other famous faces front row at the star-studded event were 25-year-old British singing sensation Natasha Bedingfield and magazine editor Jefferson Hack.
