The £100,000 paycheque should be enough to keep Ruby Stewart in skinny jeans and designer sunglasses for some time to come. But when Rod Stewart found out that his 20-year-old daughter had bagged herself a modelling contract with lingerie brand Ultimo, he was apparently none too pleased.
It wasn't the thought of his girl stripping down to her smalls, though, that had the Maggie May singer in a lather. After all his wife Penny Lancaster, ex Rachel Hunter and Kimberley, Ruby's big sister, have all modelled for the company.
Therein lies the rub according to some reports. Rod was apparently unimpressed when Rachel got the call to replace Penny in the firm's ads, and accused Ultimo of self-promotion at his family's expense.
The nature of Ruby's modelling gig isn't the only reason Rod isn't too thrilled, however. According to reports the veteran rocker had been hoping that his talented singer daughter would follow in his footsteps and concentrate on her musical career.
Ultimo boss, Michelle Mone is unlikely to be giving the real reason for the rocker's wrath too much thought, though. At the time of their original falling out, the unrepentant lingerie chief quipped: "People have said: 'You've had everyone else in his family - you'll have to get Rod in a leopard skin thong'."
