While fellow Brit Naomi Campbell was garnering a lion's share of the attention after parading down the runway in a sexy cut-out swimsuit, she wasn't the only member of the UK fashion set enjoying the spotlight in Milan.

Veteran designer Dame Vivienne Westwood was also getting shutters clicking as she arrived at a gala dinner in one of her own designs - a striking cut-out affair - to celebrate the opening of an exhibition of her work.

The touring display – which was curated by the Victoria & Albert Museum and runs in the Italian city from September 26 to January 20, 2008 - celebrates the flamboyant designer's 35-year career, with over 150 items, including pieces from her private collection.

Launched at the V&A in 2004, the exhibition is the largest the museum has ever dedicated to a British designer, and ranges from Seventies street fashion to grand ball gowns. Over the last four years it's visited nine European, Asian, American and Pacific countries.
