As one of the world's top supermodels, Kate Moss has her pick of the latest designs to wear on the red carpet. But when the organisers of an upcoming charity gala asked her to come up with something special for the event, she took inspiration from a treasured dress she has owned for over a decade.

The specially-made gown, which she will don on Thursday for the bi-annual Fashion Rocks event, is a replica of the vintage dress that she wore the night she met and fell in love with Johnny Depp. She has kept the original - a delicate, pale green, Twenties flapper dress - in a display box under her bed since their February 1994 meeting in New York.

Due to be auctioned immediately after the Albert Hall do - which will be hosted by Uma Thurman and features performances by Joss Stone and Lily Allen - the updated version is almost identical. The biggest difference being that it has been adorned with 60,000 Swarovski crystal glass pieces. Also available are 500 limited edition copies, which will be sold for £250 each.
