Trust a night called Fashion Rocks to bring out the bling in everyone. Jewel-encrusted gowns were to be seen on supermodels, rock royals and princesses outside London's Royal Albert Hall at the fundraiser for the Prince's Trust on Thursday.

Representing the House of Windsor was Princess Beatrice and the Duke of Kent's daughter, Armani muse, Lady Helen Taylor.

Beatrice, who is maturing into an ever more confident public figure, shone in a crystal-studded Marchesa gown as she rubbed shoulders with the likes of Dame Shirley Bassey.

Top prizes when it came to the sparkle factor undoubtedly went to fashion queens Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell. Millionaire covergirl Kate dazzled in an exquisite Twenties-style cocktail dress embroidered with 60,000 precision-cut crystals, while her friend wore diamante-encrusted bra and knickers under her transparent Dolce and Gabbana gown.

Inside, designers and pop acts teamed up to present catwalk shows backed by live music. And the big surprise of the evening was an appearance by Whitney Houston, who stole in at the last minute to introduce the final couture presentation of the night.
