On the promotional trail for Elizabeth: The Golden Age since early September Cate Blanchett continues to put in a dazzling performance at premieres for the film around the world. At Tuesday's gala screening in London the Aussie actress – who's known for her classic yet edgy sartorial taste – wowed fans in an off-the-shoulder Vivienne Westwood number.
The iridescent dress with corset structuring showed off Cate's stunning figure - which she's regained after losing weight to play the young Bob Dylan in the upcoming bio-pic I'm Not There. Four nights earlier she was looking equally shapely in an Armani Prive green and black gown at the Rome premiere of the film, in which she reprises her role as Queen Elizabeth I. The plunging heart-shaped neckline and dramatic bustle were typical of the talented 38-year-old’s daring approach to fashion.
Unlike other A-listers who often stick to flattering black for the red carpet, Cate loves bold colours - as she proved in LA at the beginning of the month with a flowing toga-style dress in aquamarine blue. Her choice for the film's first screening at the Toronto Film Festival wasn't shy and retiring either. Swathes of fuchsia against black, combined with a striking design, made for dramatic effect.
