If all goes to plan, pregnant Stella McCartney certainly won't have to worry about space when her next bundle of joy arrives at the end of the year. The designer, who invested in a 45-bedroom guesthouse in Notting Hill Gate last year, has converted the former backpacker's hostel back into two properties - one for her and her family, the other to be sold.
"Stella has made them back into two homes. She has sold one and they are going to live in the other," explains a chum.
Paul McCartney's designer daughter will move into her share of the former guesthouse, which she snapped up for £4.75 million last November, with her publisher husband Alasdhair Willis and their children - Miller, two, and Bailey, who turns one at the beginning of December.
The fiercely private 36-year-old, who also owns a 160-acre farm in Worcestershire, has certainly transformed the run-down building. Among the new additions being added are a library, a gym and a cinema room, plus a new swimming pool. So it's hardly surprising the renovations are causing a bit of a stir in the fashionable neighbourhood. "It's a major refurbishment and has caused a great deal of chaos in the road," says one disgruntled Notting Hill resident.
