The TV style gurus who made their name telling the public what not to wear went a step further at the weekend. Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine asked volunteers to strip down to their birthday suits to celebrate the British body.

Around 300 turned up for the photo shoot on the Sussex Downs, and helped form two giant sculptures of a man and a woman. The results will be shown on Trinny and Susannah's new show Great British Body.

Leading the way at Saturday's mass strip-off were the fashion advisers themselves. "We never ask people to do things we aren't prepared to do ourselves," stressed Trinny. "No one is going to be zoomed in on."

She added: "We've been going around the country looking for a person to represent the great British body. And we're going to create a living, breathing naked sculpture of that shape on the Sussex Downs."
