It was a case of out of Africa and into Italy as top label Hugo Boss Orange catwalked its newest collection in Florence before hundreds of chic guests, including Rupert Everett and Jade Jagger.
Showcasing the fashion house's spring-summer 2009 range, the event took place at a historic Tuscan villa, surrounded by olive groves and cypress trees. Beneath a backdrop of tribal images projected on the mansion's walls, models strutted their stuff next to a swimming pool from which fountains of fire emerged.
Designer Andrea Cannelloni's clothes took their inspiration from the African continent, with desert shades and burnt orange adding colour to soft neutrals. Soft, floaty feminine dresses and harem pants dominated.
It was a look that won praise from its front row guests, with jewellery designer Jade declaring it "right for our times".
It was "very pretty," said Rupert. "The cuts are lovely," he added.
