The trio were on hand to see the native New Yorker marking her 20th anniversary at the official Fashion Week headquarters - the tents at Bryant Park. DKNY's collection for spring 2009 focused on the label's familiar sporty and chic aesthetic with black lycra dresses, denim designs and separates suitable for smart or casual outings.
With Uma Thurman, Jennifer Lopez, Eva Longoria, and Wimbledon champion Venus Williams at the Diane Von Furstenberg show, fellow guests were in danger of being distracted from the designs by the star attendees. The veteran designer unveiled a series of floral maxi dresses, ethnic prints, embroidered kaftans and sequined shorts which fused Seventies boho-chic with up-to-the-minute glamour.
Across town at the show of London-design duo Preen, which featured dresses with cut-out detailing, asymmetric necklines and an abundance of ruffles, recently-married Peaches Geldof and UK singer Roisin Murphy were helping fly the flag for Britain.
The Charlotte Ronson presentation became a family occasion when the designer's twin sister Samantha Ronson - accompanied by girlfriend Lindsay Lohan - led a standing ovation and their music producer brother Mark Ronson spun records at the after party. Showcasing the punk-inspired designs meanwhile was Mark's model girlfriend Daisy Lowe.
And famous faces weren't confined to the audience at Sunday's William Rast show. Justin Timberlake - the man behind the tassle-heavy, Tennessee-inspired line - took to the runway to acknowledge the reception to the label's latest look with his fashion business partner Trace Ayala.
