Video coverage from the New York catwalks Among the designers showing on day seven of New York Fashion Week was local lad and Manhattan-native Zac Posen, whose collection for next autumn/winter included a voluminous scarlet satin dress and an eye-catching metallic fish-tail affair.
Checking out Zac's vision for the new season – which combined period-inspired and edgy urban - looks were Claire Danes, Alicia Keys and Nicole Richie.
Also showing on Thursday was renowned bridalwear desginer Vera Wang. The American presented a water-influenced collection which ranged from futuristic neoprene pieces to delicate shift dresses. A series of sophisticated and graceful gowns especially reflected Vera's signature style.
Calvin Klein head designer Francisco Costa mirrored a largely white spring/summer collection with an autumn/winter one dominated by black. Models paraded down the runway in muted hues enlivened with vibrant citron touches, showing off asymmetric 'crescent' hemlines on both dresses and coats.
Watching the catwalk action was British actress Kate Beckinsale and Calvin Klein cover girl Eva Mendes.
Meanwhile Tommy Hilfiger delivered classic chic in front of Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson, keeping things simple and sexy with popular shift dresses, monotone cocktail frocks and a feminine take on the suit.
