She's known for her quirky style, bold designs and alternative approach, so a union between Zandra Rhodes and supplier of high street classics, Marks and Spencer, was bound to be interesting.

The pink-haired 68-year-old's collection for the chain is rich in billowing summer dresses and chiffon kaftans emblazoned with bold flower motifs and paisley prints in vibrant fuchsia and tangerine.

Standout pieces from the summer line include a wide-legged, rose-print jumpsuit in flowing chiffon, a lingerie set in hot pink and bright orange, and a pink and purple paisley swimsuit.

Zandra, who in the course of her career designed for the likes of Princess Diana and Queen singer Freddie Mercury, says creating a range for the British retailer fulfilled a long-held ambition. "I have always wanted to design for them," she says. "I am thrilled to see my prints and their beautiful clothes reach a wide range of consumers."

Zandra's creations go on sale on May 7 in 55 M&S stores across the country and online.
