They’re both used to wearing the latest designer fashions at glitzy celeb parties, but now it seems queen of pop Madonna and British jazz sensation Amy Winehouse are extending their style nous beyond simply modelling the trends. Both stars have revealed they are to launch their own clothing lines. Back To Black singer Amy, who in recent months appears to have put her much-publicised troubles behind her, has collaborated on a 17-piece collection for Brit label Fred Perry. The first of four collections she will design for the brand, the edgy, largely pink and black collection includes “dangerously short” pencil skirts and “punk inspired” Capri pants. (below)

“We’ve been working on it for a while and it’s great to see it finally come to fruition,” gushed the multi-talented 26-year-old, who – proving her life really is back on track - is expected to release a new album this year, too.

Meanwhile, Madonna – who designed a collection for H&M back in 2007 - will be targeting a different market altogether when she launches her first clothing range. Material Girl, which will be available at Macy's stores across the Pond, will comprise of clothes, shoes and jewellery for children. It’s understood the 51-year-old will be working closely with her 13-year-old daughter Lourdes, already a fashion icon in the making, to produce the line.
