The Grand National – one of Britain's most famous horse races, and, more recently, an arena for bold, budding fashionistas to showcase their favourite outfits. And at a racecourse filled with bright colours and outlandish designs this weekend, it was the more muted sartorial choices from Coleen Rooney and Alex Curran that really stood out from the crowd.Having judged the Ladies' Day Best Dressed competition on Friday, pretty in pink Coleen, 24, made a radiant appearance at the Liverpool track the following day, with her five-month-old son Kai.
A keen follower of fashion, the pretty brunette - who welcomed her first child in Liverpool in November - opted for a floaty vintage dress in peach teamed with a matching clutch, gold earrings and towering Christian Louboutin platforms.Coleen was not the only footballer's wife opting for softer shades on Saturday.Alex Curran - married to Liverpool's Steven Gerrard - made an appearance in a taupe couture mini dress from designer Alexandre Vauthier.
While the colour was subdued, the unusual style of the 27-year-old's outfit was not, featuring both bold shoulders and batwing sleeves.
Both ladies, who will be cheering on their spouses when England compete in the World Cup in South Africa this summer, were amongst the thousands of people in the crowd watching as Tony McCoy claimed the Grand National title with his horse, Don't Push It.
