There are just three months to go until Dannii Minogue welcomes her first baby. But that certainly didn’t stop the radiant brunette going for out-and-out glamour as she stepped into the spotlight to launch her new fashion line, Project D.

X Factor judge Dannii was the star attraction in Selfridges this week as she unveiled her first clothing collection, which features day frocks, cocktail dresses and red-carpet-worthy gowns. And what better way to promote the event than by wearing a beautiful one-shouldered sequinned midnight blue gown from the range? While it is not a dress designed for the pregnant figure, Dannii chose wisely.

"This one is stretched sequin thankfully, so it goes over the bump," she joked. "Being pregnant has completely opened my mind to having to really try different shapes and things I haven’t worn before. You've got to dress cleverly around it, but I've managed to get into my dresses without any alterations," added the 38-year-old Aussie beauty.

Danni, who established her style credentials on the X Factor, teamed up with her friend Tabitha Somerset-Webb to design the collection, which will be available from the end of June. The venture, which will be followed up with an accessories line and fragrance, is one that's close to the Melbourne-born beauty's heart.

"Fashion has been a passion of mine since I can remember and I hope that every woman who slips on a Project D dress will feel glamorous yet effortless," she said. Her foray into clothing design is just one of a number of projects Dannii is involved with. The singer, who plans to give birth in Australia, is the face of Marks & Spencer and is currently working on an autobiography due out later this year.

She is also expected to return to the X Factor after welcoming her baby in July, a source close to her revealing she recently met up with the show's producer to discuss her involvement in the next series. "She is very keen to work and could easily return for judges' house, which is filmed in September," the source told the Daily Mail.
