With her voluptuous figure and penchant for eye-catching costumes, Katy Perry was the perfect choice to open the Victoria's Secret fashion gala in New York. And the newlywed brunette didn't disappoint, putting on a spectacular show at the annual lingerie extravaganza.
Katy sang a medley of her hits, including Teenage Dream and California Gurls. She even gave the famous underwear brand's angels a run for their money in a low cut purple bustier before doing a turn in a quirky yellow PVC dress and thigh-high lace-up black boots. It's been a busy week for the 26-year-old – who's firmly back in work mode after getting back from her Maldives honeymoon with Russell Brand. She made her return to the limelight with her new husband at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Spain before hot footing it over to America.
This year's Victoria's Secret show was also a big night for Adriana Lima, who made her return to the catwalk for the first time since giving birth to daughter Valentina a year ago.
The 29-year-old Brazilian said she had "really worked very hard" to get back in shape for the fashion show. "It wasn't easy for me," said the beauty, who modeled the $2 million fantasy diamond bra she was showing off last month in the Big Apple.
Joining Adriana on the runway were the other Victoria's Secret angels, including Alessandra Ambrosio, who opened the show in a set of giant black and white wings, and Transformers actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
The British beauty, who is currently filming the new film from the franchise with Shia LeBouf, was stunning in a pair of metallic wings and a red and black lingerie set. There were a few key players missing from the show, however.
Heidi Klum was not part of the lineup after announcing her retirement last month. Pregnant Miranda Kerr – whose baby with Orlando Bloom is due in February – was also absent. Famous faces turning up to see the highly-anticipated presentation included the Hilton sisters Paris and Nicky, Blondie singer Debbie Harry, and Serena Williams
