The designer duo with the most star power in fashion attracted the glitterati to their show. Movie siren Scarlett Johansson, fashionista Poppy Delevigne and British actress Felicity Jones all turned out to support Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana at Milan Fashion Week.
And Scarlett – a longtime Dolce & Gabbana devotée – stole the show with her signature old Hollywood glamour style. Her blush lace sheath dress – by the label itself, of course – was set off perfectly by a hairdo featuring sideswept Forties waves and a slick of red lipstick. The actress is a muse for the brand's make-up range, and she later posed her designer friends backstage.
Meanwhile, Felicity was pretty in a cream and black lace print cocktail dress paired with Mary Janes, and Poppy oozed sex appeal in her short black lace minidress and bright red lipstick. The offerings were a celebration of Italian beauty. Models sashayed down the runway to Mambo Italiano, sung by Sophia Loren, wearing a collection based on the designers' reverie of "a small town in the south of Italy decorated for festivities".Defining images came in the form of the staples of Italian cuisine – pasta earrings were paired with red onion-printed sundresses and silk blouses with painterly prints of tomatoes and peppers in a show of glitzy patriotism. "For us, this is the essence of Italian beauty," said Domenico and Stefano.
