Friends rally round Linda Evangelista during childcare dispute with Salma's husband

May 7, 2012

Strolling in the spring sunshine with her son, Linda Evangelista takes time out from a child support battle with François-Henri Pinault. On Sunday, the supermodel enjoyed a supportive visit from her ex-boyfriend, Hard Rock Cafe co-founder, Peter Morton.

The pair attended an exhibition opening in Connecticut, America, where Linda was also comforted by a friend and fellow model, Stephanie Seymour. Their company, no doubt, provided a much-needed respite from the fashion star’s legal dispute. Linda and French billionaire François – now married to

Salma Hayek and father to the actress' daughter, Valentina – are currently in court over maintenance payments for their son, Augustin.

The five-year-old is the result of a brief union that took place in 2005. Lawyers for the model have asked for a monthly sum of $46,000, saying that amount is needed to cover the costs of live-in nannies and security guards. On Friday, a second round of testimonies on the witness stand revealed the contrasting finances of both parties. Linda, 46, – who once famously said she wouldn’t get out of bed for less than $10,000 a day – admitted that there now wasn’t "a lot of demand" for her modelling services. Meanwhile, François is at the helm of luxury clothing company PPR and is heir to a family fortune estimated to be in the region of $11 billion. The Canadian beauty has argued that the tycoon should cover childcare costs and that Augustin be treated equally to François’ four-year-old daughter Valentina.
